THE INSTITUTE OF THE BROTHERS OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS (SHJ) is an indigenous, religious Congregation, founded by Rev.Fr. Adrian Caussanel, S.J., the French Jesuit missionary,
in the year 1903 in Tamil Nadu, South India.
The Institute has gracefully completed more than one hundred and sixteen years of meritorious service and marching ahead in the service of humanity. The Institute was canonically erected on 20th June 1952 and was recognized as an Institute of Pontifical Right on 11th February, 1999.
